Families who are interested in applying to American universities must have noticed that in recent years, the number of applications to American universities has been continuously breaking records, with wave after wave of application peaks, especially for top universities in the United States, while the admission rate has repeatedly hit new lows.
Nevertheless, 30% of Chinese students still choose to study in the United States, where the quality of higher education is among the best in the world. Among the top 100 universities in the world, American universities account for more than 50, surpassing the sum of all other countries in the world. In addition, nearly 80% of Nobel laureates worldwide are from the United States. American education focuses on cultivating a balance between students' knowledge breadth and disciplines, with high-quality teaching and a flexible education system becoming a dream destination for students studying abroad.
Despite the overwhelming number of admissions in the United States, there are still many opportunities for studying abroad after the college entrance examination, such as direct admission to prestigious universities, double admission, and bridging/preparatory/international freshman courses; There are corresponding application plans for autumn enrollment in 2023 and spring enrollment in 2024.

02 Common Issues and Limitations in American Undergraduate Admissions
1. High score requirements

The language score requirements for direct admission are relatively high, and double admission is divided into two types: those with language and those without language. Students admitted directly must have language scores, while some schools offer double admission where students can apply without language scores.
2. Long preparation time for American books

It is recommended to start preparing for undergraduate studies in the United States at least one and a half years in advance, which means that at least the second year of high school has already standardized the preparation. Generally speaking, in addition to preparing for overseas exams, the application for studying abroad in the United States needs to be made at least 1-1 and a half years in advance. To enter the top 30 universities in the United States, it is best to prepare 2-3 years in advance. That is to say, the more students who want to attend prestigious schools, the more they need to prepare in advance.
If you are a high school student preparing to enroll in an American undergraduate program, it is recommended to start planning during your sophomore year. For college students preparing to pursue a master's degree, it is more feasible to start preparing in their junior year, but many aspects need to be carefully considered in advance to avoid delaying the application.
Life is always full of unknown expectations and plans that can be unexpectedly broken.
